(Anne's) Youth Media Awards. Here is my very biased slate.



Tomorrow the Youth Media Awards will be announced at 8 AM Eastern Standard Time. Today, therefore, is my last day to speculate about who I think the winners should be. In order to be eligible the books must be published in 2015 and geared toward children or young adults.

Anne's Youth Media Awards go to...

1. Michael L. Printz Award (Best YA literature of the year) 
  • The award winner and four honor books:
  • Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman
  • Bone Gap by Laura Ruby
  • Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege on Leningrad by MT Anderson

      • (No opinion, I haven't read any which would qualify.)

      14. Scott O'Dell Award (Historical fiction)...I didn't realize that this category was not part of the ALA-YMA. I made my prediction (below) and then went to the website and learned this book actually did win category, the announcement was made Jan. 6th! Ha! Here is the announcement.
